Explore the Area

Some of our favorite places to eat, hikes to take, and things to see while you are in town!

Restaurants

  • Snake Bite Roadhouse (Yucca Valley) - Best burgers and chicken sandwich in town. Also have great salads. I haven’t had a bad meal there.

  • Frontier Cafe (Yucca Valley) - A cute coffee shop that serves good sandwiches in a fun shopping area. Has GF and vegan options.

  • Yucca Tree Eatery (Yucca Valley) - A health-centered restaurant with delicious food. They should be able to accommodate GF easily.

  • Copper Room (Yucca Valley) - Established in the 1950s, this restaurant has been updated recently with a menu that serves American food. It sits on the airport and it’s a fun gathering spot in town. Should have GF options.

  • La Copine (Landers/Yucca) - This restaurant only serves lunch and people travel from all over to visit it. French inspired/New American.

  • Más o Menos (Joshua tree) - One of my favorite spots! This is a really fun spot to grab a cocktail. They have light bites and sometimes a food truck will be there on the weekends. It’s also a coffee shop, so if you don’t drink it’s worth checking out earlier in the day

  • Kitchen in the Desert (29 Palms) - A staple of 29 Palms, vibey with a beautiful patio. New American/Caribbean.

  • Pappy& Harriet’s (Pioneertown) - BBQ / American food. They have amazing ribs, Mac n cheese, and their house marg is so good!

  • Red Dog Saloon (Pioneertown) - Fun place to grab drinks and has a rotating taco menu.

Hikes

  • Hidden Valley - Easy 1 mile in a beautiful boulder field. Highly trafficked

  • Split Rock Loop -  About 3 miles with relatively little elevation gain. Beautiful and in a lesser visited area of the park.

  • Ryan Mountain - The most difficult on the list.  Bigger elevation gains that leaves you with incredible views of the park. Plan for 3 hours and bring snacks and plenty of water.

Sightseeing

  • Palm Springs Aerial Tramway - Escape the heat and enjoy breathtaking panoramic views on the 10 minute rotating gondola ride from Palm Springs to the San Jacinto mountains.  Give yourself 1-3 hours if you want to explore at the top!

  • Old Town Yucca - Support our local shops and restaurants, you’ll find this at the corner of HWY 62 and Pioneertown Rd (which will take you to Pioneertown in just 7 minutes).

  • Pioneertown - Step back into time in this 1880s-themed town.  Originally developed as a shooting location for actors working on Western films and TV series, you can find two of our restaurant recommendations here, as well as some great shops and photo ops!

  • Downtown Joshua Tree - Right next to our wedding venue. Explore the shops and grab a bite to eat on the way into the park.

  • Joshua Tree Farmers Market - Every Saturday morning right in the heart of downtown Joshua Tree!
